Southern Rhine Cities All Inclusive River Cruise

There's only one River Rhine, but Germany's mighty waterway will take you on a journey that encapsulates the beauty and variety that only this part of the world can offer.

Cruising past town houses, cathedrals, castles and palaces with impressive Baroque and Gothic architecture, as we meander below cliffs, through dense forests and of course past the vineyards that produce the famous wine of the region.

Day One
Departing very early in the morning, we'll head for Dover, crossing to Calais before stopping in the city of Liege for our overnight stay with breakfast included.

Day Two - Frankfurt
Today we make our way from Belgium to Germany, with a lunchtime stop off in the city of Frankfurt. A vibrant city filled with arts and culture, traditional taverns serving the local brew and plenty of places to grab some lunch and take in this city of new and old buildings. From here its on to check in and board the A-Rosa Clea, and leave the coach behind for a well-deserved rest.

Once onboard, you can settle into your chosen cabin, ready for departure from the port to begin cruising down the Rhine towards the town of Speyer.

Day Four
Now we've swapped the road for the river, we cruise overnight to Germany's oldest medieval town, Speyer. The cathedral is one of the most significant examples of Romanesque architecture in Europe, but there's so much more to see!

Day Five - Strasbourg
We enjoy a full day in the Capital of Alsace, Strasbourg. Is it in France or is it in Germany? It depends on who you speak to, but the influence of both has led to some fabulous half-timbered architecture and excellent food and drink! Be sure to explore the old town of Le Petit France with its medieval buildings and the Gothic Cathedral.

Day Six - Basel
Today, we cruise across the border from Germany into Switzerland, and on to the city of Basel. Famed for its art and culture, Basel is home to many iconic buildings and museums, but it's the contrast between the ultra-modern and medieval old town that makes the city so fascinating.

Day Seven - Breisach
We take a short morning break in this picturesque Rhine-side town, which boasts a cathedral overlooking the river below. The church is home to some fabulous artwork; it's also home to 'Gelderman', a famed German sparkling wine.

Day Eight Frankfurt
Take advantage of the onboard facilities as we cruise back to Frankfurt.
Relax on board or head out and enjoy an evening in fabulous Frankfurt!

Mega-tall skyscrapers sit next to what's left of this medieval city, giving a fabulous backdrop to many a tavern serving up Germany's brew!

Day Nine
Time to say "Auf Wiedersehen" to Germany and our cruise ship as we make our way towards France and back for our overnight stopover.

Day Ten
Heading north to Calais before crossing back to the UK and home to Wales later that evening.
