Day One
Departing South Wales early in the morning (all pick-ups should take place between 6am & 9am), we make our way northward, stopping en route for motorway services comfort breaks, before a late afternoon arrival at the Holiday Inn Dumfries for an overnight stay with evening meal and breakfast included.

Day Two - Edinburgh
The following morning, we leave Dumfries and continue northward to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. Arriving late morning, we'll give you the afternoon at leisure to explore this historic city centre, before we continue our journey (just over an hour's drive) to the King Robert Hotel on the outskirts of Stirling. Here we'll get checked in for our four-night stay, which includes evening meals and breakfast each day. This family-run hotel provides a welcoming place to stay, and is well located for exploring the surrounding area during your holiday.

*Please be aware that this hotel does not have a lift - if you require a ground floor room please ensure that you make this request so that we can check availability before you make a booking

Day Three  - Stirling, The Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies
We make a leisurely start to the day, taking you into nearby Stirling for some free time to enjoy at leisure.

After lunch, we visit the Falkirk Wheel, a fascinating feat of engineering connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. As part of our 1-hour tour, we experience this iconic rotating boat lift first-hand, taking our seats on the canal boat for a memorable journey. In a matter of minutes, the amazing structure transports us 35 metres above, to the beginning of the Union Canal, before we descend back to the start point and visitor centre.

Our day will also include a visit to The Helix, home of the famous Kelpies, the magnificent and iconic equine sculptures which stand proudly at 30 metres tall, an incredible sight to take in!

Day Four  - Stirling Castle
Today, we head into the city of Stirling and visit the striking hilltop Stirling Castle in the medieval old town. One of Scotland’s largest castles, we discover its historic and architectural significance, exploring the likes of the Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Castle Exhibition, Regimental Museum, Great Kitchens and Stirling Tapestries.

Later in the afternoon, we continue to Hawes Pier in South Queensferry, from where we enjoy a 90-minute cruise on the Firth of Forth with guided commentary. Our Three Bridges circular cruise takes in spectacular views of the iconic Forth bridges, the Edinburgh skyline to the south, Fife to the north and the island of Inchcolm with its medieval abbey.

Day Five - Scone Palace & Perth
This morning, we head northward to the city of Perth, where we'll travel back in time to Scone Palace, the ancient crowning place of Scottish Kings and the original home of the Stone of Destiny. Set in beautiful woodland gardens, admire the historical artefacts and stunning State Rooms. After our visit, you'll have the afternoon at leisure in the city centre of Perth.
