Join us as we take you to the home of Agatha Christie on a weekend of discovery, exploring and entertainment, all themed around the world famous author.
Day One - Dartmouth
Departing South Wales, we head to the South West, taking a break along the way before arriving in Dartmouth, where Agatha Christie had her holiday home.
Dartmouth is one of Devon’s most charming resorts; situated at the mouth of the River Dart, this picturesque town is home to quirky shops alongside the classic offerings of fish & chips, local ice cream and fudge, the perfect lunchtime stop!
From here it's on to one of Torbay's newest hotels, the Mercure Paignton, where we'll check in and enjoy a two night stay with evening meals and breakfast included.
Although brand new, the interior is inspired by the 19th-century seafront houses and the UNESCO Global Geopark that shape Paignton's history, with touches that nod to the glamour of the English Riviera — very Agatha Christie!
Unwind in the bar or the sun terrace, perfect to enjoy a drink overlooking the seafront and beach.
Day Two - Torquay & Kents Cavern
Today we enjoy a full day in and around Torquay, where we'll take in a guided tour that includes many of the landmarks that influenced Agatha Christie's writing, from the Grand Hotel to places where she worked, stopping off at the newly unveiled bench where Agatha sits with her dog, Peter.
For the afternoon, we take in the fascinating Kents Cavern. Agatha often visited these caves as a young girl with her father, who supported the early archaeological digs at this incredible location.
At the end of your tour there's a little treat, as we're in Devon, its only proper to enjoy a cream tea as part of your day!
From Torquay, it's back to unwind at the hotel before changing your walking shoes for evening wear as we enjoy an Agatha Christie-themed dinner!
Day Three - Wells
Time to leave Torbay behind as we head inland and on to the Cathedral city of Wells (not Agatha Christie themed on this occasion!)
The smallest city in England, Wells is home to a magnificent cathedral that dominates the medieval streets around it, with a huge choice of independent shops, cafes and charming pubs, it's an ideal spot for a lunchtime break!
From here we make our way back to Wales, arriving home early evening.

The Mercure Paignton is a modern seafront hotel overlooking the English Riviera and Paignton Green. The town centre is on our doorstep. The hotel is conveniently close to beaches and the South West Coastal Path, while Paignton Zoo, Pier and UNESCO Global Geopark are nearby for memorable days out to suit all ages.
