Built in the early 18th century Blenheim Palace is renowned for its stunning Baroque architecture and sprawling gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Capability Brown. The palace is also significant for its connections to the Churchill family, as it was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Today, Blenheim Palace is a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world who come to admire its grandeur, learn about its history, and take in the beauty of its surrounding parkland.
Day One - Oxford
Departing South Wales in the morning, we make our way to the city of Oxford.
Scenic waterways,world class museums, the halls and libraries where former prime ministers and literary greats once graced are just a few things that attract visitors to this famous city. From punting to the galleries filled with ancient treasures and the incredible architecture are what you can expect to see, but Oxford also has a rich industrial past and thriving arts culture too.
At the end of the afternoon, it's not far to travel to the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South hotel to check in for our two-night stay with evening meals and breakfast included.
Day Two - Stratford-upon-Avon
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we'll make our way north to the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon.
Famed for being the birthplace of Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a vibrant town centre with typical high street shopping alongside independent stores, excellent restaurants and cafes. Add Ann Hathaway's cottage and the opportunity to cruise on the River Avon and as the man himself said..... "I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it"...

Day Three - Blenheim Palace
After breakfast at the hotel it's only a short journey over to Blenheim Palace for our visit; we plan to arrive at Blenheim Palace at approximately 10am.
Built in the early 18th century, this breathtaking Baroque-style mansion and UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its striking architecture, expansive grounds, and rich history.
The Palace was a gift to the 1st Duke of Marlborough, John Churchill, from Queen Anne in recognition of his victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704, and today the palace is still home to the descendants of the Marlborough family.
During your visit you'll have the opportunity to explore Blenheim's ornate State Rooms, exhibitions, along with it's stunning gardens, and see a wealth of historical artifacts on display, including the Churchill Exhibition which features a mix of historic artefacts and new technology, documenting key aspects of the adventurous life of Sir Winston Churchill, the famous wartime leader and writer who was born at Blenheim and returned often during his long life for parties, to paint and to spend time with his cousin and close friend ‘Sunny’, 9th Duke of Marlborough. He also chose to propose to his beloved wife, Clementine at Blenheim.
With several cafes and restaurants on site you'll be able to refresh yourselves during your visit, and have time to enjoy wandering through Blenheim's beautiful surroundings.
We'll be leaving Blenheim by 3pm for a late evening return home.
*Please be aware that due to the Salon Privé event taking place at Blenheim during your visit, the South Lawn will be closed to the public
