Let us take you away for a summer weekend break to visit Highclere Castle, the set of Downtown Abbey!
Day One - Windsor
Departing South Wales in the morning, we'll be stopping on our journey for a motorway services comfort break before arriving in Windsor at approximately 12.30pm (or shortly after).
This beautiful and unique town attracts visitors all year round, and it's not hard to see why! Situated on the banks of the Thames, this elegant town is home to some superb places to eat and drink, and some excellent high street and independent shopping too.
With Eton just over the bridge, and boat trips that take on a cruise up the river, Windsor is so much more that the home of His Majesty The King, Windsor Castle.
At the end of the afternoon it's back to the nearby Holiday Inn London Heathrow Bath Road for the evening for your one night stay with a buffet style evening meal (usually served at 7.30pm) & breakfast the following morning included.
A note about your included evening meal: For convenience and value, your break includes a simple evening meal as part of your hotel stay. The hotel's evening meal is designed to cater for a larger group of people together at the same time, so you may find that the choices are more basic and limited.
We recognise that it may not always meet the expectations of those that would prefer a superior dining experience from an extensive menu, and we recommend that you bear this in mind when booking this break. Most hotels have alternative options via a bar menu or room service menu to purchase at your own expense, should the inclusive evening meal not meet your own personal preference
Day Two - Highclere Castle
Today we visit the stunning set of Downton Abbey. Set in a 5000 acre estate, Highclere Castle was transformed by such names as Capability Brown and Sir Charles Barry into the castle and grounds we now have today. Home to the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, the house is currently most famous for being the set of Downton Abbey.
Your visit includes entry to the Castle, Gardens and the Exhibition.
We'll be departing Highclere later in the afternoon and arriving back in Wales in the evening.
We have a number of pick up points available for this break as shown below...
