Departing south Wales we head to the south West, stopping off en-route during lunchtime before arriving at the Derwent Hotel in Torquay that afternoon.

Bright and comfortable bedrooms all feature a private bathroom, TV, telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms have lift access. Leisure facilities include a sauna, steam room and hot tub and there is also a games area with ID-pin bowling, pool and ping-pong tables.  The Starlight Bar hosts vibrant evening entertainment, with a mix of cabaret and live acts.

Torquay is a fabulous holiday destination with plenty to offer - the beach is a short walk away and the marina, along with the glorious yachts, has speedboat rides and a ferry taking you to Brixham too…and for not a lot of money! The marina is also lined with cafe bars, and if the sun is shining then you can just kick back with a cuppa or something cooler!

The town boasts many of the traditional shops and with the land train right outside the hotel , it’s really easy to see it all, even if you don’t fancy the walk!

Day Two - Dawlish & Teignmouth

This morning we take you to the seaside town of Dawlish, the home of the Black Swan.  Relax and watch the birds themselves, shop at the many arcades or watch the trains go by overhead… as the main line passes over the beach.

From here it’s a short drive to Teignmouth. This coastal town, lined with Georgian architecture is known for it’s local fresh food and is a great for a spot early lunch or a cream tea before we head back. Taking a scenic route back we drop down onto Torquay seafront, giving you the choice of a little more exploring or simply head back to the hotel to relax for the rest of your day

Day Three - Looe & Polperro

Today we venture a bit further afield for a long day out as we cross the river Tamar from Devon to Cornwall, and on to Polperro for our first stop of the day. This quaint Cornish fishing village oozes charm with its narrow streets,  lined with shops selling local arts and crafts, jewellery and of course the famous Cornish pasties! All leading down to the water's edge.

From here it’s back to Looe; this seaside town prides itself on its fresh fish, and you'll see plenty of boats preparing the next catch of the day. And with this in mind.. you might just want to treat yourself to some award winning fish and chips..

Day Four - Dartmouth

Dartmouth is one of Devon’s most charming resorts. Situated at the mouth of the River Dart, this picturesque town is home to quirky shops alongside the classic offerings of fish & chips, local.ice cream and fudge. Of course if you want to learn more about the fascinating history of the area, why not take to the river itself onboard one the regular cruises. From here its back to Torquay with the option of hopping off in Paignton.

Day Five -  Exmouth & Cream Tea Cruise

Today we take you over to Exmouth - a vibrant seaside town situated on the picturesque east coast of Devon just where the majestic River Exe meets the sea. Reputedly the oldest seaside resort in Britain, its two miles of golden sand make it the longest seafront in Devon and Cornwall, and a great place for a gentle seaside stroll!

In the afternoon it's time for your Devon Cream Tea boat trip! Cruise along the calm and protected waters of the nationally renowned River Exe, whilst enjoying a deliciously Devon Cream Tea, with oodles of cream and lashings of strawberry jam, all served the right way - and accompanied with a cup of freshly brewed tea or coffee – a match made in Devon!
