  • Two Berth Cabin accommodation on outward overnight ferry crossing (supplement applies for cabin upgrades, subject to availability)
  • Four night stay at the Brit Hotel De L'Ocean with evening meals & breakfast

Known as Bretagne to the proudly independent locals, this land of dramatic coastlines and medieval towns is waiting for you to explore. Experience the Breton culture through culinary delights such as crêpes and cider, and discover a language with strong links to Wales.

Day One
Departing South Wales in the morning (not too early a start!), we head to the south West of England and on to Plymouth for our overnight Brittany Ferry crossing to Northern France. Along with your cabins (standard cabins are two-berth inside cabins with one lower & one upper bunk bed; a supplement will apply if you require a four-berth inside or outside cabin, ensuring that two people sharing a cabin can both sleep in a lower bunk).  Your ship comes with plenty to keep you entertained, including free WiFi, delicious French food* at the à la carte & self-serve restaurants, on board shopping and more.

Please note: Meals on the ferry are NOT included within your holiday price.

Day Two - Concarneau

Today we awake in France and head to the Brit Hotel Concarneau to drop off your luggage, leaving you free to explore this port town of art & history. From the fish market at dawn to the illuminated ramparts at night, there's something to see all through the day.

Head for the old town, which can only be reached by the drawbridge, where the main street is lined with attractive buildings, shops and restaurants. Picturesque, paved streets and squares feature a mix of half-timbered and granite medieval houses, with numerous places selling fresh, local foods. It's a great way to begin your stay in Brittany.

Later in the afternoon, we check in at the Brit Hotel De L'Ocean in Concarneau for the next four nights, with evening meals and breakfast included. The Brit Hotel De L'Ocean has fabulous panoramic views of the beach from the restaurant, as well as a heated outdoor pool and sauna.

Day Three - Brest

Today we enjoy a short journey out to the nearby port City of Brest. Split into two by the Penfeld River, the City. The city of Brest is famed for its maritime history. Once the debarkation point for American troops and a submarine base for the Germans, the National Navy Museum at Chateau De Breast is the place to find out more. Of course, if you'd prefer to take it easy on your first day, there are plenty of traditional French cafe bars to enjoy a spot of lunch while you watch the world go by.

Arriving back mid afternoon to enjoy the hotel and surrounding area.

Day Four - Bénodet & Quimper

This morning, we head over to the seaside town of Bénodet for a 2-hour river cruise on what Winston Churchill described as 'The most beautiful river in France', the Odet. We'll pass wooded landscapes, castles, manor houses and more before we take our second stop of the day at Quimper.

Day Five - Vannes & Pont-Aven

Vannes is Brittany's most essential and picture-perfect town. Sixteenth-century half-timber houses and the old town are a must, and the harbour is a perfect place to grab a coffee or local wine with its fabulous views over the Gulf of Morbihan. From here it's on to the historical port town of Pont-Aven. Historic watermills along the banks of the River Aven make it a favourite amongst artists, so don’t be surprised to see the odd easel as you wander by.

Day Six

It's time to say goodbye to Concarneau, but not to Brittany quite yet. Heading north, we arrive at the town of Morlaix.
Also known as the Ville de Bretagne, this medieval town is famed for its viaduct and 'maisons à pondalez', the overhanging timber-framed houses that shade the cobbled streets. Market stalls and boutiques are aplenty if you want to grab a last-minute gift, and the cafes are serving the local dish of Kig ha farz, a rustic cuisine best served with a glass of cidre!

From here it's back to Roscoff for our afternoon crossing back to Plymouth before we head home to Wales, arriving back in the early hours of the morning.
