Andrew Lloyd Webber’s STARLIGHT EXPRESS opens summer 2024 in the specially designed Starlight Auditorium at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre. Audiences will be immersed inside a world of speed, song and storytelling as an incredible cast of 40 whizz around and above, performing some of musical theatre’s most beloved songs, including AC/DC, Make Up My Heart, Light at the End of the Tunnel and the iconic Starlight Express.
As a child’s train set magically comes to life and the engines race to become the fastest in the world, Rusty the steam train has little hope of winning until he is inspired by the legend of the ‘Starlight Express’.
Seen around the world by over 20 million people, STARLIGHT EXPRESS is an electrifying experience for all ages.
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, the creative team is helmed by acclaimed director Luke Sheppard (&Juliet, The Little Big Things), set designer Tim Hatley (Back to the Future), video designer Andrzej Goulding (Life of Pi), costume designer Gabriella Slade (Six), lighting designer Howard Hudson (&Juliet), sound designer Gareth Owen (MJ the Musical) with new orchestrations and musical supervision by Matthew Brind.
Day One - Starlight Express
Departing South Wales mid morning (all pick ups take place between 9am and 11am) we take you to straight to the Holiday Inn London Heathrow Bath Road to check in for your one night bed and breakfast stay.
Once checked in at the hotel you'll have some time to settle into your room and freshen up before the coach takes you over to Wembley, dropping you close to the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, in plenty of time ahead of the 7.30pm evening performance of Starlight Express. You'll find a selection of places to eat and drink within a 10 minute walk of the venue, should you wish to enjoy a meal or drinks before the show.
Your seats for this performance will be in the Platform 1 area: Please note these seats are close to the racing track, entry to and from seats will be limited and restricted at times.
At the end of the show we’ll be around the corner to whisk you back to the hotel.
Day Two - Windsor
The following morning, it’s a relaxing start to the day, and with the centre of Windsor just a short drive away from your hotel we’ll take you over there after breakfast and checking out from the hotel.
This beautiful and unique town attracts visitors all year round, and it's not hard to see why! Situated on the banks of the Thames, this elegant town is home to some superb places to eat and drink, and some excellent high street and independent shopping too.
With Eton just over the bridge, and boat trips that take on a cruise up the river, Windsor is so much more that the home of His Majesty The King, Windsor Castle.
We'll be leaving Windsor by 3pm for a late evening return home.
