Join us on a long weekend away to enjoy two fabulous continental Christmas markets – Lille and Brugge!
Day One
Departing South Wales we head to Dover for our afternoon crossing to Northern France. From here it’s just a 90 minute drive to our base for the weekend, the 4 star Novotel Lille Centre Gare for your three night stay with breakfast included.
As you’re in the heart of Lille you can come and go as you please , with the town decked in a huge crown of garlands and sparkling with festive lights! Lille is the ideal destination for your Christmas shopping with over 3900 shops to suit every taste and budget.
Day Two - Free in Lille
A free day to enjoy in the city of Lille; you can head towards Place Rihour where the trees are lined with twinkling fairy lights, the irresistible aroma of cinnamon and roasted chestnuts fill the air and an array of over 83 Christmas wooden chalets awaits you. What better place to shop for that perfect gift idea, nativity figurines, Christmas decorations and festive food - with waffles, gingerbread and other delicacies to take away or enjoy on the spot with a glass of mulled wine.
Day Three Brugge
Today we head across the border into Belgium, taking you to Brugge. Here you'll have time to explore this must see medieval city, which is lined with cobbled streets and canals. You might like to hop on a boat and take in the breathtaking views or maybe a horse and cart...complete with commentary from a local!
Take this already beautiful backdrop and add that festive feel, with the Christmas Market and Ice Rink taking over the city's historic Markt Square.
At the end of the afternoon we take you back to Lille to enjoy the final evening of your break.
Day Four
Time to head home, after breakfast at the hotel we'll make our way back to Calais for our return channel crossing, and arriving back home in Wales late in the evening.
