Northumberland Wonderland!

Join us on a five day holiday to the North east and Newcastle. Staying in Newcastle city centre itself and enjoying the nearby attractions of the Beamish Living Museum of the North and the cathedral city of Durham.

Day One

Departing South Wales we head North and on to the excellent Copthorne Hotel Newcastle City Centre* for our four night stay with breakfast and evening meals included.  Here you won't only have the city on your doorstep but your rooms will be overlooking the famous River Tyne.

*Please be aware that that this hotel does not have hotel rooms with walk in shower cubicles.

Day Two - Beamish

Today we take a step back in time as we take a short drive to the living museum of the north, Beamish. This working museum is complete with trams rattling along the cobbled streets, and your guides will be in full costume to bring you that authentic feel. With shops and buildings that were brought here brick by brick and re assembled for you to enjoy, this is an unique place to visit.

Day Three - Durham

This captivating city with it's winding cobbled streets is our destination for the day. Durham Cathedral and 11th century castle are world heritage sites and offer stunning panoramic views across the River Wear and beyond. With great shops and it's bustling markets, you may never want to leave old Durham town...

Day Four - Free in Newcastle

This cultural city has a wealth of architecture, places to visit, eateries and fabulous shopping.. and all just a walk along the river away from your hotel.

World class concert halls and galleries and a vibrant nightlife give Newcastle a arty feel with the Tyneside cinema ( the only surviving news cinema) and the Biscuit factory combining a great place to lunch with an art gallery.. and that's without the fabulous city centre shopping. Don't worry.. your hotel is nearby if you need a rest in between!

Day Five

Time to depart for south Wales, arriving home late evening.
