Guernsey

As close to France as you can get without leaving UK soil, this fascinating island offers a step back in time but with all the facilities of modern life. With plenty of quirky differences such as blue post boxes, and pound notes, roadside "Hedge Veg" stalls and a a maximum speed limit of 35mph..  it's a place where you can go to forget the daily rush.

Day One Departing south Wales we head southward to our first stop of your holiday, Salisbury. This medieval Cathedral city is known for being the home of Britain's tallest steeple, but has many independent shops and restaurants and historic refreshment rooms too, perfect to get you in the holiday mood. On the outskirts of the city is our overnight hotel, the Holiday Inn Stonehenge. Here you'll be treated an evening meal, accommodation and a boxed breakfast, all ready for a short journey the following day to the Poole to Guernsey ferry.

Day Two - Guernsey 
This morning it's an early start as we make our way to Poole ferry terminal. Here our driver waves au revoir to you before you climb aboard fast ferry to Guernsey

 As you dock, your local Guernsey coach and driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. 

The Hotel Hougue du Pommier is a comfortable and welcoming 3* star hotel is located within a pleasant rural location on the north side of the island only a short drive from the coast itself. Each of the 43 bedrooms have facilities including hair dryer, telephone, satellite TV and an iron and ironing board. With a cosy bar/lounge area and modern restaurant along with an extensive garden and terrace  that's ideal for enjoying summer evenings. There's even an outdoor swimming pool for guests to enjoy!

Day Three - Scenic Sark 
After breakfast, we take the ferry to the second smallest of the Channel Islands, Sark. We will be met at the harbour by horse drawn carriage that will take us on a 1 hour tour of the island before we return to Guernsey for the rest of the day at leisure.

Day Four - Guernsey Island Tour 
This morning we board our coach and enjoy a half day guided tour of the island. Our tour includes a visit to The Little Chapel and the German built naval observation tower of Pleinmont Point and the fragrant Guernsey Freesia Centre. Mid tour we enjoy tea & cake at the Guernsey Peal. Our tour ends in St Peter Port where we spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. 

Day Five - Castle Cornet 
Today we enjoy a guided tour of Castle Cornet and its museums. We then have the choice of returning to our hotel by coach or remaining in St Peter Port where we can enjoy strolling around the beautiful Candie Gardens and Guernsey Museum before returning to our hotel. 

Day Six - Departure 
After breakfast, it's time to bid a fond farewell to the island as make our way back to the ferry port for our return crossing to Poole.  From here we head back to south Wales, arriving home very late evening
