Join us for an extra special weekend in the Netherlands to see the musical genius that is ANDRE RIEU.
Each summer Andre Rieu holds a homecoming concert in the wonderful surroundings of Vrijthof Square in Maastricht where he performs a spectacular show under the stars.. and you can be there!
Departing South Wales we head south east , crossing the channel where we drive through France and Belgium before arriving at our base for the night, the hotel Op De Boud in Valkenburg for a three night stay with breakfast and evening meals on Saturday and Monday evenings*
*There will not be an evening meal provided on Sunday evening
Take is easy in Valkenburg before we take the short drive to the city of Maastricht, in plenty of time for tonight's concert!
Maastricht has a festival atmosphere when Andre Rieu is in town and as the the concert nears we'll be there to soak up the atmosphere. The beautiful old town area is perfect to browse the shops, grab a bite to eat and get ready for the main attraction!
Vrijthof Square is transformed into the perfect venue for the homecoming concert and with top price tickets ( Blocks A1 & A3 next to the podium ) you'll be sure of a great view.
Accompanying Rieu is the Johann Strauss orchestra ready to play his hugely popular style of accessible classical music.
A leisurely start as we explore the surrounding area. Our base is near the 3 border region of the Vaals where Holland, Belgium and Germany meet with the German town of Aachen. Germany's most western spa city was once the capital of the Frankish empire of Charlemagne is steeped in history with plenty to see. The cathedral and treasury, city hall and Markt to name a few.
A mid morning start as we make the journey home, crossing the channel to head home late that evening.
