Come with us on a tour to the most varied county in England. Culture, history, stunning scenery and hearty food are just a few things that help sum up this most beautiful part of the world.
Departing South Wales we head North and on the our hotel for the week, Aldwark Manor.
Set in 120 acres of North Yorkshire countryside, this historic manor house combines period features alongside contemporary rooms. Combined with excellent facilities such as a spa & health club with excellent dining, it's the perfect base to relax and unwind while we explore the county.
Have a leisurely breakfast before we head out to explore this former capital city of England . Situated on the river Ouse you can take in the magnificence of York Minster, browse the shops in the historic Shambles or simply take in the sights. Today we head to the North east coast of Yorkshire and on to the seaside town of Whitby. A thriving fishing harbour with charming streets, a steam railway and also the birthplace of Bram Stoker's Dracula! Combined with excellent fish and chips, it's a perfect stop off.
From here we head over the Yorkshire Moors and on to Pickering. The hub of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, this ancient market town is bustling with plenty of shops, local pubs and places to eat.
A short drive from the hotel is the Victorian Spa town of Harrogate. This fashionable destination has a lovely mix of old and new in the town centre, while the cobbled streets of the Montpellier Quarter is home to many boutiques. museums and art galleries. And with the world famous Betty's Tea Rooms to entice you in.. there's a little something for all.
Time to say goodbye to Yorkshire and head back to South Wales. With refreshment breaks along the way, and arriving back home that evening.
